When choosing stone for your outdoor worktop BBQ area or garden project there’s a few things to consider.
We wouldn’t recommend quartz outdoors as the resins and dyes in the stone will fade in direct sunlight.
Certain granites are also not advisable as they can be very porous and can develop algae under the surface causing a green tinge and can also show signs of weathering.
But don’t be put off there are still plenty of granites that are perfect for outdoor use such as steel grey, premium black and even exotic colourful quartzites.
